REGULATION

1. Competition organizer

      Sports Association "MONT EVENT" in collaboration with the County Council Harghita and D.S.J. Harghita.
 

2. The characteristics of the competition

     Mureş-Olt Marathon is a circuit race on the area of the Giurgeu and Hasmas mountains, with the start and finish at Izvoru Mureşului resort (the National Sports Complex). The maximum altitude that is reached on the route is 1792m

3. Participation

     People who are at least 18 years old and are physically fit can participate. Minors can only participate with the parents' written consent. The minimum age for participation is 15 years at the Cross and 17 years at Marathon and Half Marathon.

4. Registration

     Registration is done on www.muresoltmarathon.ro until 10th of September 2019. Payment can be made online or by transfer/bank transfer. The registration fee is refunded 50% if a person notifies that he/she can no longer participate until the maximum date of 31st of August, 2019. Entries are validated on the spot with the signature of each participant on September 20th and 21st.

5. Categories

     The categories to which prizes will be awarded and given ranking will be:

 

  •  for Half Marathon and Marathon:


Male: open, 18-29 years, 30-39 years, 40-49 years, 50+
Female: open, 18-29 years, 30-39 years, 40+

 

  •  for the Cross trial:

Male/Female: open 

6. Award

     Cups, medals and various items will be awarded. The organizers do not have the obligation to send the unclaimed prizes at the award ceremony.

1. Circuit races are divided into 3 competition categories: Individual, Teams, and Nocturne. To see all competitions and trials that are part of, visit www.circuitulcarpatilor.ro.


2. The MARATHON Track of the "Mureş-Olt Marathon" Contest is included in the "Carpathian Circuit"


3. Rankings will be made on the following categories: individual, teams and night races.
In each category, you will score the best + 1 of the competitions entered in the Circuit calendar.


4. For all those who participate in more than half + 1 of the competitions, bonus points will be awarded as follows:

  • 15 points for each first and second race over the half limit + 1

  • 25 points for each third and fourth race over half + 1

  • 50 points for the following races

Example: 

      The individual category has 14 races in the calendar, the half limit + 1 is 8 races. If a competitor participates in 13 races, his final score will be an amount of the following:

  • a. the best 8 results from the 13 races

  • b. 15 + 15 bonus points for the ninth and tenth races

  • c. 25 + 25 bonus points for the eleventh and twelfth races

  • d. 50 bonus points for the thirteenth race

5. Team score::


5.1. In the "Teams" category the points are awarded as follows: 100, 90, 80, 75, 70, 68, 66, 64, 62, 60, 60 (for 10th place), 58, 56, 54, 52, 50, 48, 46 , 44, 42, 40 points (for 20th place), 39, 38, 37, 36, 35, 34, 33, 32, 31, 30 (for 30th place), 29, 28, 27, 26, 25 , 24, 23, 22, 21, 20 (for 40th place), 19, 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7 , 6, 5 points for the 55th place and for all the participants who finished the race during the limit. Two points for all those who started but did not finish the race.


5.2. Points are awarded in order of the men's and women's OPEN rankings. Mixed teams receive points in the men's OPEN rankings. Athletes from the same team receive the same number of points.
 

5.3. The final rounds of the Carpathian Circuit - Teams will be individual, male and female.

7. Equipment

     Required: the number of the contest held visibly throughout the contest;
Required marathon: waterproof jacket, hat/waist, long pants / ¾ + leggings.
Recommended: backpack/breeze, waterproof jacket, cap/waist, trekking sticks, water bucket, energy bars and gels, mobile phone.

8. Timing

     Timing will take place at start, route, and arrival. During the route, there will be time limits for a particular sector in the race. If a participant does not meet any time limit, he will be disqualified and will return on the start/finish area accompanied by the organizers. Timing is done per second and will be done with timing chips.

 

9. Competition schedule

     The technical meeting will take place on Friday the 20th of September at 20:30 at the National Sports Complex. The start will take place on Saturday, September 21st, at 9:30. Depending on weather forecasts or other events, there may be changes that will be announced by the organizers. Changing weather or route conditions may also cause organizers to change the time limits at checkpoints. Participants who do not qualify for the time limits will be disqualified for their own safety and will have to return on arrival accompanied by the organizers.

 

10. Disqualification / Retraction from the race

     The organizers reserve the right to disqualify or withdraw any competitor from the race in the following situations:

  • loss of the contest number

  • non-observance of the route imposed by the organizers, use of shortcuts

  • missing a checkpoint

  • disposing of garbage on the route (the packaging used can be left at the revitalizing points)

  • unsportsmanlike behavior against other participants, officials, the public, other people 

  • exceeding the marathon time limit

  • in exceptional cases

6. Scoring Nocturnal Races
6.1. In the "Nocturnal Racing" category the points are awarded as follows: 100, 90, 80, 75, 70, 68, 66, 64, 62, 60 points (for 10th place), 58, 56, 54, 52, 50, 48, 46, 44, 42, 40 (for 20th place), 39, 38, 37, 36, 35, 34, 33, 32, 31, 30 (for 30th place), 29, 28, 27, 26, 25, 24, 23, 22, 21, 20 points (for 40th place), 19, 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 7, 6, 5 points for the 55th place and for all the participants who finished the race during the limit. Two points for all those who started but did not finish the race.
6.2. Points are awarded in order of the men's and women's OPEN rankings.

6.3. The final rounds of the Carpathian Circuit - Nocturnal races will be made individually, masculine and feminine.

7. Individual Score

7.1. For the awarding of the points, the probation that counts for the Carpathian Circle will be taken into account. In the calculation of the travel coefficient, the length of the race, the difference in level and the number of participants are taken into account, as follows: Km + level difference / 100) x 10 + no. Sample participants = race coefficient

7.2. For accuracy, the stroke coefficient will be calculated after the start time.

7.3. If the coefficient value is between 0 and 500, the score starts at a maximum of 100 points and is awarded according to the table.

7.4. If the travel coefficient value is between 501 and 1000, the score starts at a maximum of 150 points and is awarded according to the table.

7.5. If the travel coefficient value is above 1000, the score starts at a maximum of 200 points and is awarded according to the table.
7.6. Five other points will also be accepted by all other participants who have completed the race during the limit. Two points for all those who started but did not finish the race.
7.7. Points are awarded in order of the men's and women's OPEN rankings.
 
7.8. There are two final rounds of the Carpathian Circuit - Individual, male and female.

The organizers will not be held responsible for any accident or injury arising from the participation in the Mureş-Olt Marathon 2019 edition.
